What is WorkBC?

WorkBC is the new Employment Program of BC that replaced four provincially funded employment programs and six programs funded under the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Development Agreement.

There are several Centres  through British Columbia. Please access the official website to find the closest one for you!

Avia Employment Services is the WorkBC Centre for the following areas: Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Richmond, Langley and Surrey-Newton. Check our locations here.

What is Avia?

Avia Employment Services is a provincially-funded employment services program to help job-seekers in finding gainful employment. Avia is part of the Government’s WorkBC initiative which helps jobseekers who live in Coquitlam, Langley, Port Coquitlam, Richmond and Newton to find employment. Am I eligible to use Avia?

Yes if you are legally eligible to work in Canada.

How much will this cost me?

Nothing. As long as you meet the eligibility criteria, you can use and access Avia’s services free of charge.

Where is Avia available and where should I go?

Avia’s employment service centres are conveniently located throughout Metro Vancouver to make it easier for you to access our services. If you live in any of the following catchment areas, please contact us!

Can I use Avia from home?

Yes. Many of Avia’s services and features are accessible online.

How do I start using Avia’s services?

Contact us by phone, fax or email or better yet, pay us a visit at a location nearest you

What do I need to get registered as a client?

You will need to provide a valid Social Insurance Number or documentation indicating that you are legally eligible to work in Canada

I need help hiring. How can Avia help me?

Avia will help you in accessing screened and qualified job-seekers, provide a forum to post your company’s job openings, give you access to a searchable database of job-seekers and help promote diversity in your workplace.

I have a disability. Can Avia help me?

Yes. Avia’s services are open to anyone who is legally eligible to work in Canada.

I’m changing careers. How can Avia help?

Avia can help in conducting research, access training opportunities and job-searching among many other services to help you enter your new career.
