About WorkBC Program & Objectives

The new Employment Program of British Columbia (WorkBC) was developed after considerable consultation over an eighteen-month period with stakeholders including service providers, clients, and Ministry Officials (Federal and Provincial). The revised program reflects feedback about the need for better and consistent access to services for those trying to find a job, and linking opportunities and services together under one roof. This has been referred to as the “One-stop shop” or “no wrong door” model of employment service delivery.

WorkBC Employment Services Centre will integrate all services and make it easier to help people prepare, find and maintain work and provide stability for their families. It will provide the full suite of quality services to specialized populations and smaller communities including Immigrants, Youth, Aboriginal people, Francophone, Persons with Disabilities, Survivors of violence and abuse, Persons with Multiple barriers to employment and people living in rural and remote areas.

All British Columbians who are seeking employment will have access to a menu of services that will be customized to meet their individual needs.
